Poem – Lifemates

You touch my heart
Holding it beating in your hands
Bloody from its removal
Holding it with love, caressing my soul
Protecting.

Walking through fields filled with life
Butterflies dancing from flower to flower
Soaring from their transformation.
From the sheltered cocoon of existence into full blown beauty.
As nature intended.

Strolling through woods hand in hand
Birds singing in the canopy overhead
Green, Peaceful
A stream, the water flowing over rocks smoothed through time
Carefully, lovingly shaped by water
Determined in its journey.

I watch it, feel the coolness on my hands
Feel it flow through my fingers
Feel your hand in my hair
Feel your heat as I lean back into the safety of your body
Your arms

Lying by your side,
White clouds rolling overhead on their way to the mountains
My head nestled in the crook of your arm.
Feeling your heart beat.
Setting the rhythm of my own.

Perfect union.
Of man and woman
two halves incomplete in separate lives
Opposite natures warring in separate existences
Completeness found together
Perfect contrapuntal harmony.

Hold me in your arms
Let me feel you through my soul
Stoking the fires within us
Burning brightly in love and in passion and in need of one another.
I am bound to you.
Bound to you as you are to me
A Master and His kajira

Life mates found.
